Damp Seal Roof Coat is a high-performance waterproof roof coating designed to seal and protect terraces and roofs from leakage, cracks, and weather damage. Its strong adhesion, flexible film, and superior water-resistant properties create a durable, seamless barrier that extends roof life and ensures long-lasting protection even in harsh conditions.
Directions for use
1. Surface Preparation
• Ensure the surface is free from dust, oil, grease, grime, and loose particles. For weak or crumbling surfaces, replastering is recommended. Masonry surfaces should be fully cured before application.
• Small cracks (3 mm or less) should be opened, cleaned, and filled using Crack Seal.
• Larger cracks, damaged portions, and hollow areas must be repaired with polymer-modified mortar.
• For existing efflorescent surfaces, clean the area using an efflorescence remover or a wire brush, followed by thorough water washing.
• Treat possible water entry points such as joints, ledges, sloped valleys, and clogged drainage lines to prevent seepage.
2. Application Method
Horizontal Surfaces:
• Apply a self-priming coat of Damp Seal (diluted with water in a 3:1 ratio).
• Follow with two undiluted coats, ensuring a forced system coverage of 0.93–0.95 sq.m/L.
• Maintain a drying interval of 4–6 hours between coats.
• For best results, ensure the product is applied across the entire surface.
Vertical Surfaces (Fresh Painting):
• Apply a self-priming coat of Athena Damp Seal (diluted with water in a 3:1 ratio).
• Apply a second undiluted coat. Forced system coverage: 2.79 sq.m/L.
• Apply a third coat for enhanced performance.
Vertical Surfaces (Repainting):
• On pre-painted surfaces, apply a single undiluted coat of Damp Seal with a forced system coverage of 2.79–3.25 sq.m/L.
Top Coat Application:
• Apply 2 coats of Athena Premium Coats Exterior Emulsion in the desired shade.
• Allow 4–6 hours drying time between coats.
3. Precautions & Recommendations
• Do not apply during rainfall or in extreme weather conditions.
• For improved performance, use fabric tape at junctions, corners, and roof edges to reinforce protection.
• Not suitable for areas with active water sources or rising ground water issues.
Surface Temperature Reduction:
• This feature applies only to coatings in white shade.
